REZ Preorder & Notify Me is a Shopify app that keeps sold-out products selling. It swaps Add to cart for a Pre-order button that takes full payment or a deposit, shows the ship date on product, cart and checkout, and emails shoppers when stock returns. There is a free plan; paid plans run from $4.99 to $48.99 a month.
How does preorder work?
When a product is out of stock, REZ replaces the Add to cart button with a Preorder button. Customers order before the product is back, so you capture demand instead of losing the sale.
When should I use Preorder instead of Notify Me?
Preorder when you know the product will be available again and want customers to buy now. Notify Me when you don’t know when it’s back, or don’t want to take payment before restocking.
Will the Preorder button appear automatically when a product sells out?
Yes. REZ detects inventory changes and switches Add to cart to Preorder when inventory reaches zero. When inventory is back, it switches back to Add to cart.
Will customers pay for a preorder immediately?
Your choice. REZ supports full payment and partial payment, so you can collect the full amount or a deposit up front.
Can I limit the number of preorders?
Yes. Set a maximum preorder quantity to control how many units customers can buy and avoid overselling.
Do I need to manually change the product when it comes back in stock?
No. REZ responds to inventory changes automatically. When inventory is available, the Preorder button returns to Add to cart.
How does Notify Me work?
When a product is sold out, customers click Notify Me and enter their email. REZ saves the request and notifies them automatically when the product is back in stock.
What happens when the product comes back in stock?
REZ detects the inventory change and sends a back-in-stock notification to every customer who asked for one.
Do I need to manually send the notification emails?
No. REZ sends them automatically when the product becomes available.
Can I collect marketing consent from Notify Me customers?
Yes, where applicable. Customers are only added to your marketing list when they have given the appropriate consent.
Can I see which products have the most demand?
Yes. REZ shows the full notification funnel — sent, opened, clicked, purchased — so you can see which sold-out products have the strongest demand and which are most likely to convert when restocked.
Can I use Preorder and Notify Me at the same time?
Yes. Show both buttons on an out-of-stock product, so customers can order now or get notified when it’s back.
